Most Important Factor when Choosing a Job

A UK research carried out by WikiJob in 2009 showed that persons consider a number of factors when choosing a jobs. The findings revealed that the most important factor when choosing a job was career progression and not pay which received the second highest votes. The other factors identified (in descending order) were training, job security, working hours and corporate social responsibility.
The percentages for each factor is illustrated on the graph below.
Poll result for a research about important factors when choosing a job and important when aking career choices
Some persons would argue that this finding is a bit out dated and isnt Jamaican based. My question to you therefore is:
What is the most important factor to you when choosing a Job ?

Career progression is good, but why would you want to work for less than what you are worth?

As a recent university grad, money for now trumps all other factors of job selection. In the future, I can be more frugal...

I understand your line of reasoning but I think 'gaining experience' should be an important factor for you as well, if not your most important. Your degree coupled with experience in your desired field should earn you some good money in the long run.

Thanks for the input Richard. I understand that being your own boss offers some amount of job security because it saves you from getting fired but what if your company fails ?
